Stafford & District Choral Society
We are a mixed choir from the county town of Stafford, singing for fun and the love of music. No audition is required to join us, but our musical achievement is greater than the sum of our individual voices! We are about 70 strong, performing three concerts per year, singing music from Bach to Britten, and in lighter vein, folk songs and songs from shows. Excitingly we often perform with a full orchestra and professional soloists. For special concerts in the past we have sung some of the great oratorios with an augmented choir in Lichfield Cathedral. So come and join in the fun!

Stone Choral Society
We are a friendly, mixed choir of around 70 singers, based in the midlands canal town of Stone in Staffordshire. We generally perform three or four concerts a year in and around the town. We rehearse on Thursday nights in term time at St Dominic’s school hall, and sing a wide range of music, from Bach to Britten, madrigals, folk songs and show tunes. We are always pleased to welcome new members. We offer the first term free to new members. In addition, we offer free membership to people in full time education, and people under 21 get the first year free.
Stone Choral Society has been exchanging visits with other choirs for many years: making trips to the Czech Republic, Belgium, France, Italy and Poland. In May 2015 a group of us went to the town of Rzeszow in S.E. Poland to perform two concerts with the Strzyzow Chamber Choir. We were made very welcome in Strzyzow; the tour of the town included a visit to a tunnel made in the hillside to shelter Hitler’s train. We also had several enjoyable evenings of eating, drinking and singing with the Strzyzow Choir. The Strzyzow Choir had hoped to make another visit to us in Stone, but unfortunately they couldn’t get any funding.
Another highlight was the concert at the Blessed William Howard Catholic High School in November 2014 when we performed a Requiem composed by Stuart Johnson, a tenor in the choir, our Assistant Musical Director and father of Harriet, our present Musical Director.
